Okay, this isn't actually new "news"
I am just trying to get everyone's focused attention for a moment.
Any time you see a lower case "the" in front of a name, that "the" is not part of the name that follows.
Any time you see "the" United States or "the" United States of America or any other such construction you are looking at some sort of British Territorial United States or Municipal United States business that is infringing on our Proper Names: The United States and The United States of America.
Any variation from The United States and/or The United States of America --- and the entity being discussed is not us, not our country, not our business.
Just like JOHN O. ZIMMERMAN is not the name of any living man called John O. Zimmerman, THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is not the name of our country, either.
Please recognize and memorize the actual Proper Names associated with our country: The United States and The United States of America.
I have no idea how this crucial information passed everyone by, but it is apparent that a lot of people missed this bit.

Had I not had Business Law in both high school and Certified General Accounting courses, I would likely not have recognized any significance to the different "the" formats. I have a twin brother who still at almost 71 doesn't recognize the differences.
I faulted the education system back in the 1960's for that. Then I found out the reason why. I was raised 6 miles from General Motors of Canada in Oshawa, Ontario. After graduating my Business and Commerce course(Grade 12) I applied for an office job there. It took 3 years to get in the door. My student colleagues in Academic courses with Grade 13 were getting hired. When I finally did get in, I asked Human Resources why they would hire someone who knew nothing about business to work in their office. He said the policy was to hire only Grade 13 or higher.
After I was there, I understood more specifically why. They didn't want anyone to figure out what they were doing unless you were at the right pay grade. Seat Belt set cost GM 2.50. Parts and Service sold them to employees at 25% discount for 21.50. Retail price at a dealer was 28.67 approx. An 1100% markup. Not a bad business. I showed that to my colleagues in the office and most had been there 5-10+ years had never bothered to look into that. But, they knew how to dissect a frog! They never had a curious mind for that. Compartmentalization was in place. Information was on a need to know basis, end of story.
So I am not surprised when people do not understand this legal/lawful/contractual jargon. All for the same reason they never taught non-commerce students how to fill out a cheque. It was all planned ignorance."
